Muntu's Sankofa Project: Comer Youth Center

Muntu Dance Theatre performs contemporary and ancient African and African-American dance, music, and folklore. I have been photographing Muntu productions for about five years. During late November and early December of 2009 I photographed rehearsals for their Sankofa Project. These photographs are a record of their rehearsals in the Comer Youth Center auditorium on South Chicago Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.
